Donate to FEM Newsmagazine Today!

FEM is UCLA’s intersectional feminist newsmagazine! Since FEM was founded in 1973, we have sought to provide our community with thoughtful feminist writing, artwork, videos, events, and more. We create a wide range of compassionate multimedia content that recenters narratives often rejected or ignored by mainstream media. As we celebrate our 50th anniversary, your support would contribute in honoring FEM’s legacy and future.

Last year, thanks to the generous donations from our Spark Campaign, we were able to accomplish a lot and continue growing our magazine during the transition back onto campus. We were able fund events such as the Senior Staff retreat, socials, and launch events for our print issues and zine. FEM had the opportunity to produce merchandise including clothing, prints, and stickers. In addition, we were able to grow our Community Outreach team and provide funds for supplies and resources for the LA community. Other places where the donations contributed include: radio equipment, recruitment efforts, website maintenance, and printing.

As a student-run organization, our team needs funding to support our discussions surrounding intersectional feminism and building our collective. FEM brings people of all backgrounds together to further our mission statement and values. This funding gives us the freedom to fairly compensate our section heads and editors and also allocate resources to the printing of our physical magazines. Moreover, your donations would allow us to continue to support our sections and FEM Members in pursuing important pieces, content, and projects for our organization. Donations are invaluable for our print issue photoshoots in funding equipment, wardrobe, and renting spaces. We hope to also distribute funds in aiding access and transportation to volunteer opportunities and community actions led by Community Outreach. We hope to continue to use funds for creative endeavors in building on our work over the last year.

During this time, your financial support would mean the world to us. With your donations, we will be able to host more successful events; create meaningful articles, designs, videos, and radio shows for both our website and print; and keep supporting our FEM family.

Now, more than ever, in light of the changing socio-political landscape, FEM’s content is essential. Your donation will go directly to supporting emerging journalists and creatives embarking on their careers during a time in which inclusive discourse in journalism and community care are crucial. Because of your contribution to FEM, we will be able to provide vital information to our community as we navigate this historical moment.

Last year’s Spark Campaign was a huge success. We were blown away by your generosity! With the money we were able to raise, we were able to keep the vital conversations going that FEM is pushing for and pursue more opportunities in increasing our organization’s reach.

We have always been and always will be entirely 100% student-led––that’s part of what makes FEM so special. As student journalists, we are able to share our unique insights as well as empower young feminists at UCLA. We arm our audience with tools to navigate the world by offering feminist analysis, news, and creative work.

FEM isn’t just a publication. It unites people from all different backgrounds who are committed to unlearning and relearning alongside our global audience. We are a tight-knit community of people who come together to learn and grow from each other and build lifelong friendships along the way.

Your donation is directly supporting a one-of-a-kind, 50-year legacy of feminist thought, activism, and community!
