Who is AIM?
Advocating Intersectional Medicine (AIM) is a pre-health organization, student-run, and student-led, passionate about social justice issues in healthcare and medicine. We continuously advocate and promote advocacy through graphics, writing, discussions, and many other avenues of communication. AIM works to educate members on important healthcare issues and the way intersectionality impacts issues such as racial disparities, access to health and health information, vaccinations, and much more. We dedicate ourselves to further applying an intersectional lens on healthcare and promoting this education for future healthcare professionals.
What do we do?
AIM focuses on educating future healthcare professionals as well as others interested in advocacy for intersectionality in medicine and healthcare. AIM provides resources through educational presentations, social media infographics, and allows members to promote advocacy skills in writing and outreach. We also provide volunteer and fundraising opportunities to further achieve equitable and accessible medicine and promote intersectionality in medicine.
Why do we need your help?
AIM has been a running organization for 2 years now, starting its journey during the COVID-19 pandemic that posed many barriers. As a donor, you will be helping AIM to continue fighting for advocacy for intersectional medicine through various events. These events include our annual conference with student-led workshops and keynote speakers, volunteer events such as hygiene bags for the Venice Family Clinic, and supplies for promoter events like the Enormous Activities Fair! Any money donated will also go towards maintaining our website, creating content on editing software, merch for events, socials, books and resources for educational purposes, and much more!
By donating you will have a part in expanding intersectionality and addressing major disparities in our healthcare system. Your gift equips future healthcare workers with the knowledge they need to practice and advocate for equitable and accessible medicine. This is the first step in healing those affected and restructuring the institutions that instigate inequities in healthcare.
