Make Little Bruin Wishes Come True!
By reaching our goal of $25,000, the Little Bruin Wishes campaign ensures that parenting students are not forced to choose between budgeting for their education, covering their basic needs, and creating lasting holiday memories for their Little Bruins.
The Students with Dependents (SwD) program supports parenting and caregiving students all year round. Students with Dependents are eligible for scholarships, emergency funding, and mental health and counseling services tailored to their unique needs.
Pursuing a degree at UCLA is challenging for all students, but parenting and caregiving students face additional barriers to success.
Two in three parenting students at UCLA are eligible for need-based federal financial aid (Pell Grants), while one in three have reported experiencing food insecurity. Still, more than half of the parenting students at UCLA are pursuing a graduate-level degree to achieve their personal and professional goals.
The Student with Dependents program advocates for our parenting and care-giving students, ensuring that Bruins have the tools and resources they need to succeed while at UCLA.
This year the SwD program is responding to evolving student-need by advocating for child-friendly study spaces. Specialized desks and parent study areas this will allow parents to focus on their work while their child plays safely nearby. Through support from donors like you, the program can ensure that UCLA continues to meet Bruin families' unique needs.
Since 2015, donor support to UCLA’s Students with Dependents (SwD) program has granted the holiday wishes of thousands of UCLA families.
Your gift will ensure that UCLA parenting students don't have to choose between meeting basic needs and creating special holiday memories with their Little Bruins.
