Did you know that 7 percent of the University’s operating budget comes from the state, and student fees comprise just another 8 percent of the total funds?
This means that 85% of UCLA’s operating budget comes from additional sources, including private support. This allows UCLA to maintain an intimate student-to-teacher ratio and remain top 10 in education rankings.
Student giving matters! All gifts in any amount to any fund on campus make a difference. Every dollar that comes into UCLA from private support is crucial so that UCLA can continue to thrive in research, rankings and programs. A gift that you make today will be counted towards our $4.2 Billion Centennial Campaign goal and you will be a supporter of UCLA moving forward in its next century.

Student Spotlight
"Being an international student at UCLA, I understand how sometimes it can be financially burdensome for students. Being so far away from home, I realize the importance of all the various resources UCLA has to support students. I consider myself very fortunate to receive this world-class education, and have so many opportunities to explore my interests and passions. I strongly believe in philanthropy because every student deserves this chance. This is why I give to UCLA. Being a Bruin is an honor, and I want to do as much as I can to ensure UCLA always aids present and future Bruins."
- Shahamah Tariq, Class of 2021, Electrical Engineering major and international student
"I give to the UCLA Counseling and Psychological Services Center because I care for others and encourage students to speak upon their issues. CAPS has helped multiple UCLA students, like me, transition to college in a healthy and supportive way."
- Sharona Tahvilian, Class of 2019, Sociology major and first-year junior transfer
"I give to Chancellor's Greatest Needs because I know how much the fund impacts students like me. It creates programs that make sure minority and first generation students, like me, are successful in college. That is what inspires me to give."
- Aatra Abbas, Class of 2019, Political Science major and first generation college student
"As a non-traditional student, the transition to the top public university in the county has been one of the greatest challenges of my life but also one of the most rewarding. UCLA has given me so much and changed who I am in many positive ways. My Bruin legacy is a future full of competent public servants and sensible, fact-based laws. Please join me in being an active participant in our Bruin legacy."
- Wesley Bridle, Class of 2018, Economics major and Public Affairs minor
