With gratitude to you and 57 other advocates, The UCLA Depression Grand Challenge team is proud to share the success of our 2nd annual UCLA Spark campaign, aimed at raising much-needed resources for the Screening and Treatment for Anxiety and Depression (STAND) Program. In 44 days, the community came together to raise $36,941, passing our fundraising goal and unlocking a $25,000 match, raising a total of $61,941 for the STAND Program.
This collective generosity is helping to identify at-risk students, prevent suicide, and understand the biological causes of depression all while enabling UCLA students to continue to receive free mental health screening, assessment, and personalized treatment.
Thank you, again, for supporting the DGC’s mission to reduce the global burden of depression. We look forward to keeping you informed of our progress.
In other news, DGC faculty, a member of the DGC Leadership Council, and a STAND Program Certified Resilience Peer recently participated in a TEDxUCLA Salon focused on depression. Click here to watch the sold out program.

Thanks to the generosity of over 40 donors including YOU and a successful Giving Tuesday, together, we have raised $9,991 for the UCLA Depression Grand Challenge STAND Program, bringing us 39% of the way toward our goal with 24 days remaining. A generous donor family has pledged to match each dollar to help us double our goal, bringing our total to $19,982 and taking us that much closer to raising $50,000.
You have already made a difference through contributing, but there is one more way that you can help us combat depression: share our campaign on social media or via email with your friends, family, and colleagues. Your public advocacy not only has potential to raise necessary funding for this program, but is also an important step in eliminating the social stigmas that surround the global epidemic of depression.
We truly appreciate your contributions and continued advocacy. You are helping UCLA students continue to receive free mental health screening, assessment, and personalized treatment.
