My name is Taylor and I am a first year Ph.D student in the department of Health Policy and Management at the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health.
I am planning to run the 5K and as a former distance runner who hasn't run much in years, this is a big step for me! I'm looking forward to training with my colleagues and friends at UCLA and incorporating running into my daily routine as a means of exercise and stress-relief as I conquer year one of my doctorate!
As a recent MPH graduate, I understand the value in students practicing their new skillsets in a real-world setting while serving communities in need. I'll be running to raise money for fellowships that will fund summer fieldwork experiences for my fellow graduate students. Your gift will enable the next generation of public health researchers and practitioners to gain experience with organizations and/or communities that would benefit greatly but may not be able to pay FSPH students. With your support, FSPH scholars will be able to afford working in communities in need through Los Angeles, the country, and around the world.
