As our fundraising campaign comes to an end, we want to again say thank you and to share with you a little about how the meet went. One of our goals for the event was to make it even bigger than last years, both in the number of athletes participating and the number of people in the stands. We had an absolutely wonderful turnout with five schools in attendance, 97 athletes total, seven UCLA organizations, and a surprise visit from Olympian Joanna Hayes and pro Sydney McLaughlin. Thanks to the extra $500 from our stretch goal, we were also able to decorate and promote the event. Walking up Bruin Walk on Friday one would have seen many balloons, and it worked. We had students stopping by on their way from class to check out the meet and cheer on the athletes.

Another goal we had was to spend more time with the student-athletes and to include a full medal ceremony. We were thrilled the athletes could stay longer this year, which allowed plenty of time for warm-ups, getting to know each other in between events, and a personalized medal ceremony. Throughout the day the athletes competed in four events total, including the 100-meter dash, long jump, shot put, and the 4x100 meter relay. From the athletes to the teachers to the volunteers, there were many smiles. We thank you for helping to make this event a success and for allowing us to share our love of running with the community. 

The day has finally arrived for the second-annual Meet of Champions! Thank you a million times over for helping to make this event possible!! 

Donors, We can't tell you how excited we were to reload the crowdfunding page to see that we had reached our goal. Your generosity provided transportation, medals, and shirts for all the student-athletes. THANK YOU! Because our campaign still has a week left, we've decided to stretch our goal to $5500. We're just two days away from the meet and there are lots of little costs that add up, such as poster supplies, advertising, and decorations. If we reach our new goal and there's unused money, it will be used for next years meet. We hope to see you at Drake Stadium this Friday, March 8th. We're just six days away from the second-annual Meet of Champions and we couldn't be more excited! The medals for the athletes were delivered and look even better than we could have hoped. We also put the final touches on the shirts and can't wait to see them in a few days. Throughout the week we had other club sports and on-campus organizations reach out to us and we expect to have a packed fan section. We hope to see you there too! To end the week, our team had a fun evening with meet planning, poster making, and of course pizza. While there are two weeks left in our fundraising campaign, it would be incredible to meet our goal by the meet. We're 93% there! Wonderful donors- after just 15 days, we're now less than 10% away from meeting our crowdfunding goal of $5000! It's been just one week since our fundraising campaign began and we've reached over 75% of our goal! It's heartening to know that so many people believe in this event as much as our team does. This last week has been a busy one for the Meet of Champions planning committee and the wonderful people at Club Sports and LAUSD.  We ordered medals for the athletes, got confirmation of the schools attending, set up heat sheets, and started this crowdfunding campaign. Thanks to our gracious donors the Spark campaign has been the easiest task yet. In just four days we reached 50% of our goal!! Thank you so much for being a part of the success of this event!
