As we plan to welcome in the New Year, we want to thank you for your generosity in support of the Undergraduate Research Centers. Be sure to mark your calendars- Undergraduate Research Week has been scheduled for May 18-22, 2020. This truly is a shining moment on campus each year, a time to celebrate everything it means to be a world-renowned research university. This dedicated week provides UCLA departments, colleges, and programs the opportunity to showcase student achievements to the campus and broader community.

The Dean’s Prize Ceremony honored the winners of the 2019 URW Dean’s Prize. These life science, physical science and engineering seniors, nominated by their faculty research mentors, are honored for their research accomplishments and poster presentations. Approximately 100 applicants were selected to have their posters reviewed by faculty judges on Poster Day, and 15 scholars received this year’s Dean’s Prize. Congratulations to all the nominees and winners on your achievements!

Yesterday, Luskin Conference Center hosted 80+ student researchers and 76 oral presentations attended by alumni, faculty, staff, students, friends and parents.
At yesterday's inaugural lunch, faculty mentors and their undergraduate researchers networked with alumni and friends about History, Education, English, Psychology, Arts, Gender Studies and Geography research projects.

Just 24 hours ago, Pauley Pavilion was overflowing with a record number of students, faculty, staff, parents and alumni interested in research.
On the floor you heard a range of research topics from "Cartilage Development" to "The Ebony Project: Sustainable Community-Based Agroforestry in Cameroon".
Everyone had the opportunity to see and celebrate your giving through a live website feed at the Friends of Research Lounge.
You can imagine the excitement when we reached $30,000 and received our first $20,000 matching gift!
