UCLA Geriatrics: A Community of Care Since 1979

You have a deep connection to the UCLA Geriatrics Program.  You know, firsthand, how powerful the educational experience is and know what it can do for someone’s career.  Mentors touched your life and inspired you to pursue greatness. You formed friendships—professional and personal ties—that lasted for years or decades!

The next generation of geriatricians are already training at UCLA, and now our team needs your help to ensure that our fellows receive the best education we can possibly provide.

A Community of Geriatricians since 1979

UCLA Geriatrics is asking for our community to demonstrate the support they have for those who are following in their footsteps. Our goal is to raise $18,000 to provide a warm welcome to next year's class on their first day of fellowship, an innovative leadership training program, board review materials, and sponsorship for their graduation celebration.

Geriatricians are special. People who pursue fellowship training in Geriatric Medicine are not doing it to be wealthy.  Rather, they have a calling to service. They enjoy the complexities of working with an older population. They appreciate hearing stories from people who bore witness to history. They embrace the challenges of managing patients with long lists of medications and thoughtfully navigating complicated discussions to establish appropriate goals for patients. As a society, we are producing few geriatricians and we should do everything we can to encourage and inspire those who demonstrate an interest in the field.

We all want the UCLA Geriatrics Fellowship to be the very best it can be. We want to inspire our fellows to pursue fulfilling careers in Geriatrics and assume leadership roles in the organizations where they practice. We will do this by welcoming them at the start of their fellowship, supporting them while they are in the program, and celebrating their completion of it.

For $100, you can provide a welcome package for a fellow and you can demonstrate how much you appreciate the commitment they are making to the field.

For $3000, you can provide a unique leadership training program for the fellows and impart additional skills and insights to the fellows.

For $600, you can support the fellows with Board Examination Preparatory material and ease their transition to being Attending Physicians.

For $5000, you can sponsor their graduation dinner and celebrate their transition into the Community of Geriatricians.

We hope you will accept this invitation to enhance the program and expand the community of Geriatricians.
