Pet Therapy Fundraiser Honoring Linda Laing

Thank you for your support. This fundraising page has closed, but you can still contribute to their cause here!

Our dear friend, Linda Laing, passed away on April 28, 2019.  Linda began participating in pet therapy at UCLA many years ago and loved sharing her time and her beloved dogs to the benefit of staff and patients there.  I thought it would be a lovely way to honor Linda's memory to support the UCLA pet therapy program.  Thank you for your thoughtful gift.

Sincerely, Lisa Miller

UCLA People-Animal Connection (PAC) is recognized as one of the most comprehensive Animal-Assisted Therapy programs in the nation. PAC volunteer teams of canine and human partners bring comfort, companionship, and warmth to more than 1,000 patients every month.

Dogs are naturally interactive and provide relief from long days in the hospital. The dogs’ unconditional love and attention brighten the day for patients, visitors, and staff alike. Medical research has shown that a canine visit brings about physiological signs of relaxation such as decreased blood pressure, heart rate, and respiratory rate. In addition, visits stimulate activity in Alzheimer’s patients and in those receiving physical therapy and rehabilitation.

Your gift, large or small, will help us with the training and administrative expenses of People–Animal Connection, maximizing the impact of our volunteers, both human and canine.
