2ND STRETCH GOAL! Kelly's Birthday Fundraiser

Thank you for your support! This fundraising page has closed, but you can still contribute to their cause here!

For my birthday this year, I’ve decided to raise money in support of Dr. Anthony Wang and the UCLA Department of Neurosurgery. For those that don’t know, my Dad suffered from a stroke in 2017 due to a disease called moyamoya.

Moyamoya disease is a rare neurovascular condition that can affect both children and adults and is caused by progressive narrowing or blockage of the major blood vessels supplying the brain. The result is a lack of necessary blood flow to the brain, which can cause stroke (like in my Dad’s case), mini-strokes or bleeding into the brain. Since moyamoya is so rare, there are few Neurosurgeons that specialize in it. Thankfully, because of my love for UCLA and since it really is the #1 hospital in Los Angeles we were able to find Dr. Wang. To this day, Dr. Wang has performed two successful surgeries on my Dad, helping to restore blood flow, prevent future strokes and my family can’t thank him enough.

As a grateful patient family member and a member of the UCLA Neurosurgery Development Team, I am so honored to serve and encourage others to give back to this area that has already given so much to me personally. Please consider donating throughout the month of June, every gift no matter the size, will help. Thank you so much in advance for supporting a cause so personal to me!

For over 20 consecutive years, U.S. News & World Report has recognized UCLA Neurosurgery as one of the top neurosurgery programs in the nation. UCLA Neurosurgery is ranked No. 10 in the country and No. 1 in all of Southern California.

Dr. Anthony Wang specializes in pediatric, cerebrovascular, and complex cranial base surgeries, and has fellowship training in each of these subspecialties. His clinical specialties include pediatric brain tumors, moyamoya disease, bypasses for cerebral revascularization, aneurysm and AVM surgery, complex skull base surgery, and Chiari malformations.
