Our son, Ben, was born on December 27, 2018 weighing 7lbs, 5oz. On December 28, 2018 we found out that a valve in his heart wasn’t opening all the way. After a successful procedure to fix this valve, Ben had to stay in the hospital for a few days. A few months later, we found out he would also need to have ureter re-implantation surgery. The surgery was a success and another few days in the hospital followed. As scary as all this was, we are so grateful to the true professionals at UCLA Health that saved our son’s life. The nurses at UCLA not only took incredible care of our son, but showed understanding and kindness to his very worried parents. In celebration of Ben’s first birthday, please join us in supporting the UCLA Friends of the NICU Fund in honor of all the nurses that helped us through this challenging time. Thank you!
