Help HOOLIGAN bring student theatre to the UCLA community!

Who We Are

HOOLIGAN Theatre Company is a 100% student-run theatre company here on UCLA’s campus! We are a not-for-profit organization that strives to provide the students of UCLA with the chance to be a part of professional theatre productions, no matter what their major is, and provide free opportunities for UCLA students to watch quality theatre. Our aspiration is to revitalize, educate, and enrich the theater community. This Winter Quarter, HOOLIGAN will be producing, rehearsing, and creating two incredible shows that will run during Weeks 1 and 2 of Spring Quarter: Guys and Dolls and 9 to 5!

The Problem

As exciting as putting on two shows is, student theatre is very expensive to produce. Both shows require payment for a venue as well as budgets for lighting, sound, costumes, hair and makeup, props, and scenic pieces. As you can probably imagine, this totals up to a lot of money. While each member of the cast and crew works to fundraise by participating in events such as TV tapings or selling spaces in our show programs to local businesses, it is very difficult to fundraise enough money to put on these shows to the standards that we aspire to.

We Can’t Do This Alone

As we continue to fundraise via these TV tapings, program advertisements, restaurant fundraisers, and more, we are looking for further support. Theatre is an incredibly meaningful experience for all those involved, whether you are in the lead, an ensemble member, the director, a costume designer, or even an audience member. The opportunity to watch plays does not come cheap, and for many UCLA students, HOOLIGAN may provide their first exposure to professional-quality theatre. Furthermore, HOOLIGAN's reach extends beyond its membership and even beyond UCLA, helping preserve theatre and the arts throughout society, at a time when funding for the arts has taken a hit.

In order to continue having this far-reaching effect, we ask you to please donate so that we can create these two incredible musicals. You can have a direct impact on the quest to sustain the arts at UCLA and throughout our society. Even the smallest donation can have a big effect!

A Little More About HOOLIGAN

Founded in 2006, HOOLIGAN Theatre Company is in its 15th season. Throughout each school year, HOOLIGAN produces and creates three mainstage musicals, one mainstage play, a cabaret-style Education Showcase, and 24-Hour Musical to benefit No Limits. We are open to students of all majors, and many people find their home here through becoming a member of the cast, of tech, or by becoming a staff member! Even more join us as audience members at all of our incredible shows.
