My name is Jacob Khorsandi, and I am a Senior at high school. Being keen, curious, and emotional were all internal factors that motivated me to join the Mattel Youth Ambassador Program and help make a difference in the lives of patients and their families. UCLA Mattel Children's Hospital and UCLA's Volunteer Services programs work together to try to ease the discomfort that can come with being in the hospital. Gifts to my project will support efforts such as:
Hospital visits can be especially intimidating for children, and these programs aim to alleviate stress and help patients forget, even for a moment, that they are in the hospital.
