Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, many children in local hospitals have been unable to see visitors including family members and important figures in their lives. Children are isolated in their hospital rooms, lacking their usual comfort system provided by loved ones, which could deteriorate their mental health and lead to depression. I am a Mattel Youth Ambassador, part of a UCLA Health volunteer program which values the well-being and success of these young innocent individuals. Although Mattel Youth Ambassadors are no longer able to interact with these children in person due to these unprecedented times, we can still impact the UCLA Health community.
My Mattel Youth Ambassador project includes a $2,500 fundraising effort to sustain an environment in which these strong children are uplifted. These funds will benefit and support patient and family services at the Mattel Children's Hospital including the music programs for patients, art and activity kits, holiday festivities for patients, birthday celebrations, and the special needs of patients and families. All of these funds go back to helping these individuals be more positive and happy despite all the hardships they have to face at such a young age.
Any donation that you can provide will help change a child's life, so please take that into consideration. Thank you for taking the time out of your day to make the UCLA Health community a better place!
