We are so excited to announce that we have officially surpassed our goal!
Thanks to your incredible outpouring of support, $112,030 was raised for the Ron A. Baham Memorial Scholarship in Comedy! To say we could not have accomplished what we did without you would be an understatement. You were the agents of change and that drove this campaign.
It was beautiful to see Ron’s community of friends throughout his life come together. Ron was a tour du force who always found a way to bring people together. We would like to think you continued his mission in uniting for this initiative.
We are beyond grateful to you for honoring Ron and supporting the talented UCLA TFT students that follow in his footsteps. Since we have reached our goal with 8 days left, anyone who would like to continuing adding their support for Ron can contribute until the campaign officially ends on April 30.
We look forward to announcing the next Ron Baham recipient soon! And now that this award will be endowed, you have ensured more students can continue developing their comedic voices. There will be many more Ron Baham scholars to come!
There is still time to get us to the finish line! Having reached 95% of our goal, we are now in the final stretch of securing funding for our next Ron A. Baham Comedy Writing Fellows! Between renewed friendships and shared memories, there is already so much to celebrate as we race to hit our target of $110,000 before the campaign ends.
You can continue to help us get there by sharing our campaign link: spark.ucla.edu/ronbaham to encourage others to honor Ron's life and legacy. Every dollar raised is an investment in students who create content that brings us all together in the spirit of joy and laughter, just like Ron did.
The support and encouragement we have received from this community is truly inspiring. Let's finish strong for Ron!
Greetings friends of Ron, fellow Bruins, and wonderful supporters,
In the last weeks of 2020, we received so many heartfelt gifts of support, reaching 78% of our goal to raise $110,000 supporting comedic screenwriters in our MFA program at UCLA TFT in honor of Ron’s career passion. We are so grateful to everyone for getting us this far and touched by all of your many thoughtful messages about Ron along the way—we hope you continue to share your stories with us!
As a result of the remarkable outpouring of support which has brought more of Ron's friends together in recent weeks, we are relaunching this campaign! Two of Ron’s dear friends from UCLA, Gina Rugolo Judd and Nancy Derwin-Weiss, who remained close to him after graduation, are helping us embark on this new chapter to ensure we are able to provide the award for many more talented students. Gina and Nancy were so inspired by all the support we’ve received in the first round of this campaign from Ron’s ZBT brothers and UCLA friends and hope many more of Ron's friends will join this final stretch in honoring Ron's legacy. To kick things off, they have each committed to the suggested donation of $1,000 to lead the charge to highlight Ron's impact and reach our endowment goal. Gifts in other amounts or donations are also available and welcome.
You can continue to help us by sharing this campaign link wide and far. In hearing these memories of Ron and his ability to inspire so much good will from all who crossed his path, we want to continue to cultivate this community of giving. So please join us in spreading the joy!
Thank you!
Because of your support of this campaign, your combined contribution and match gift helped us raise $20,000 for the Ron A. Baham Memorial Fellowship in Comedy! We are so grateful for your energy, drive, and commitment to honoring Ron and supporting the talented UCLA TFT students that follow in his footsteps.
Your contributions will go far in helping to endow this fund ensuring our students can continue developing their comedic voices!
Thank you for ringing in the new year by making a brighter future possible at UCLA TFT for Ron Baham fellows!
There is still time to get us to the finish line! With only 4 DAYS left to give before the campaign closes, we are in the final stretch of securing funding for our next Ron A. Baham Comedy Writing Fellow! And there is already so much to celebrate as we race to hit our target of $20,000 before the campaign ends, with not one, but TWO matching challenges!
You can continue to help us get there by continuing to share our campaign link: spark.ucla.edu/zbtron as a way to encourage others to honor Ron and invest in students to keep creating content that brings us all together in the spirit of joy and laughter.
The ongoing support we have received is truly inspiring. Your dedication to expanding Ron’s legacy and mission will take this award to new heights for generations to come!
Let's ring in the new year on a high note!
We are now halfway through our giving campaign, and, thanks to you, over 50% toward our goal! If we keep this up, we know we can hit our target of $20,000 to fund our next Ron A. Baham Comedy Writing Fellow! To celebrate, we are sharing a photo from Ron's college days at ZBT - we hope it brings back fond memories!
Don’t hesitate to share on your networks about our (and your!) success at spark.ucla.edu/zbtron. Every gift, no matter the size, makes a significant impact in ensuring our screenwriting students have the opportunity to receive TFT’s prestigious MFA education. A reminder that every ten dollars given allows a student to work one hour less in a work-study job and focus instead on their scholarship and training.
Thank you for spreading the joy by uplifting comedic voices!
We have another challenge!
After Allan Mutchnik and Nicole Mutchnik generously offered to match all gifts made to the Ron A. Baham Memorial Fellowship up to $20,000, they have now decided to extend their contribution even further. The first 50 donors to give any amount to the Ron A. Baham Memorial Fellowship in the month of December will unlock an additional $5,000 contribution to our goal from Allan and Nicole! This challenge truly honors Ron’s unique ability to move so many of you with his kindness, charisma and incredible sense of humor.
We are so grateful to those who have contributed to the Ron A. Baham Memorial Fellowship in Comedy already and helped start our campaign off on a high note. This #GivingTuesday, join us in keeping this incredible momentum going so we can hit our target to raise $20,000 and reach our two matching goals!
If you haven’t already, now is the time to share with your network the giving link: spark.ucla.edu/zbtron so that more of Ron's community of friends can play a vital role in advancing our mission to promote young comedic voices among MFA students at TFT.
Your generosity ensures that UCLA TFT can continue elevating talented comedy writers to pursue careers in entertainment and radically change the industry for the better, both on and off-screen. Thank you again for cheering us on and spreading the word in Ron's memory!
