Thank you for supporting archaeological science at UCLA’s Cotsen Institute! Though our crowdfunding campaign may be over, there are still ways that you can support our research and get involved by donating to the "Cotsen Equipment Fund" on the Cotsen Institute's Giving page.
Thanks to all of you who supported student research at the Cotsen! Your donation last year to the Cotsen Equipment Fund helped us get some much-needed equipment and supplies. We are so grateful for your support of archaeological research and scientific discovery!
The fall quarter is in full swing at UCLA and our new stereomicroscope is happy to welcome students back to the Cotsen Institute! It is wonderful to hear voices in the halls again...despite the corrosion we’ve discovered in this ear thanks to the new microscope! With your generous support, we were able to purchase a new Leica stereomicroscope equipped with a digital camera. This allows students to examine artifacts and samples under the microscope and document any important features.

The response to Giving Tuesday was INCREDIBLE! We surpassed our Giving Tuesday goal thanks to the many supporters who showed up. We are humbled by the gracious generosity of each of you! We are on the way to equip our labs with the resources students need to continue their research.

Yesterday was the first official day of our campaign, and as of right now, we are already 35% toward the goal of $15,000 – including $3,000 in checks on the way.

No gift is too small and your donation of $10 will be put to immediate use to purchase sample preparation supplies, like microscope slides, sample vials and hand tools!
We are so grateful for your donation! Your gift will be used towards some of the smaller lab equipment such as the microscope stage attachment and ultrasonic cleaner. Every little bit helps us get closer to buying what we need to examine and analyze all our archaeological samples!
