Hi! I'm Ella Yim and this year I was selected to be a UCLA Mattel Children's Hospital Youth Ambassador. Last year I developed an interest in pediatric oncology and eventually immunotherapies-- specifically a type of therapy that can target cancer cells.
However, I realized that these treatments-- along with many others-- could be long, forcing patients to give up their old lifestyle, including many activities and celebrations they love. As a Mattel Youth Ambassador, I have the opportunity to be part of the solution by fundraising to providing resources for patients often undergoing treatment that can be both physically and mentally tolling.
