Paper in Action

Hi everyone! My name is Melissa Bui and I am a Mattel Youth Ambassador aiming to raise $1250 for the UCLA Mattel Children's Hospital. While fundraising, I am participating in volunteer activities such as paper flowers and comfort care cards. All proceeds raised from this donation goal will be used to directly support the UCLA Mattel Children's Hospital. These funds will be collected to help purchase care kits, art supplies and offer fun activities for patients not to feel alone.

Origami became my lifelong passion ever since my grandfather introduced me to an origami paper bird. This transformation from paper to figures fascinated and inspired me. I wanted to share the joy I had in origami to bring to the Mattel Hospital, ensuring the sense of comfort and hope to patients. Being a part of the Mattel Youth Ambassador is a nurturing experience to allow me to share the art of origami to patients and bring smiles to children whether it is virtually or in person.

As another means to help fundraise, I am partnering with Paper In Action, an international youth led organization, promoting to help fundraise for the Mattel Children's Hospital.

If you would like to order homemade origami paper, purchase Paper In Action clothing or check out more information, please visit my Instagram page @paperinaction.
