My name is Shailen Mehta, and I am currently a junior at Simi Valley High School. I aspire to become a doctor of sports medicine, and make a difference in my community by healing injured athletes and improving people’s lives. I am fortunate to have found the UCLA Mattel Youth Ambassador program, and as an ambassador I am excited to raise money to support hospitalized children. The UCLA Mattel Children’s Hospital is a facility that helps provide support and state-of-the-art treatment for kids. These children are in a very unfortunate situation, and need as much help as they can get.
I think it is important to give back to the community, especially the youth. I am lucky enough to have been able to experience a memorable childhood, and I want to allow young kids like the patients of the UCLA Mattel Children’s Hospital to feel the same. This is why, in addition to volunteering and completing service projects for the patients, I will be dedicating my time to umpire and coach baseball games for the youth at my local baseball league. Any proceeds will be going towards this fundraiser, to the Mattel Children’s Hospital. I am excited to use my passion for both baseball and healthcare to help out kids in my community and in the hospital!
With your help, I aim to raise $1250 for the hospital. These funds go towards music programs for patients, art and activity kits, holiday festivities, birthday celebrations, boxes of cheer, and special needs of patients and families. I am driven and determined to reach my fundraising goal of $1250 to support children in the Mattel Children’s Hospital, and any donations from you would go a long way! Every dollar counts, and will contribute to the healing and happiness the children will receive. Thank you so much!
