Support UCLA Figure Skating at Nationals!

UCLA Figure Skating was founded in 2012 as a student-run, intercollegiate organization within club sports. Since then, we have achieved incredible success and growth: qualifying for the National Intercollegiate Finals eight times and ranking among the top 5 teams in the nation. Every season, we compete in three Conference competitions in the Pacific Coast in hopes of being the top 4 teams to qualify for the National Final. This year, our team has competed at competitions hosted at University of Denver, UC Berkeley, and UC San Diego. Due to great results in all 3 sectional competitions, UCLA Figure Skating has qualified for the 2023 National Intercollegiate Final, which we as a team will be hosting!

Without easy access to training facilities, coaches, or transportation, our team depends on one another to accommodate training time in between a rigorous course schedule and commute time. Our skaters pay for training, equipment, and competitions out of pocket. Without financial support from the school, funding for training, the costs of traveling to competitions, entry fees, accommodation, and associated costs can be very expensive for our skaters. To be prepared for competition throughout the season, our members organize off-ice training, drive each other to the rink, and even make each other's routines on the ice.

This year, we have qualified and will host the National Intercollegiate Final at UCLA. For this to happen, we are asking for your financial support to alleviate the individual expenses of our skaters. We have set our fundraising goal to $8,000, which would cover the entry fees of each skater and assist in alleviating accommodation costs. Our skaters will be putting in all their time and effort to make the 2023 National Intercollegiate Final a success, and supporting our journey to this final competition would allow our skaters to continue their passion for this beloved sport.

For some of our skaters, college has been their first competitive experience, while others have spent several years prior competing in regional, sectional, and national competitions. Regardless of their previous experiences with figure skating, all of our skaters have found a new family within the team, bonded by our shared passion for figure skating.

In the past SPARK campaign, we raised $4,480 for the 2022 National Intercollegiate Final, hosted by Adrian College. The amazing support from our donors helped support the costs of our skater’s journey toward the biggest competition of the season. This year, we have set our goal to $8,000, due to the tremendous growth in our team this season. We would appreciate any donation to support our journey to nationals.

Our team promotes sportsmanship, teamwork, and community in ways that benefit our skaters beyond skating. By contributing to this campaign, you will not only help us attend Nationals but will support our team's growth upon our previous achievements. Through this experience, we will be able to establish a stronger community among our skaters and attain our team goal of becoming National medalists while opening new opportunities for our futures. Your donations are the building blocks of our success, and we appreciate any amount you are able to donate!

All donations are tax-deductible. Thank you for your support. Go Bruins!!
