Help UCLA Waterski with Boat Repair and Maintenance

Since the establishment of the UCLA waterski and wakeboard team, the club has provided students with the opportunity and equipment to learn and grow in the sport of waterskiing. With skiers participating from all levels from beginners to world class competitors, we have created a family that eat, sleep, breathes waterski.

Over the past several years the UCLA Waterski team has continued to grow and rebuild since the COVID years. After missing out on nationals last year, our team came back stronger and hungrier than ever to earn our place back at the swamps of Louisiana for this years 2023 waterski nationals. Our bruins competed in all three events, with several members earning spots on the podium.

WHY WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT

Our journey to nationals was anything but easy. With our clubs main boat under repairs, the team has relied on the generosity of current club members to get our members back on the water to train every week in preparation. With a larger portion of club funds being allocated to the repair of our boat and the maintenance of our loaner boat, cost have risen for individuals and the club alike.  

Our mission has always been to provide access to waterskiing for all students through low club dues and costs. However with the unexpected costs for boat repairs and nationals travel, many members have experienced financial struggles with the increase in costs and extra expenses.

With the upcoming tournament season we will need our boats back up and running to get us back out onto the water and we need your help to get there! Please consider donating to our campaign to help UCLA waterski show everyone who’s the best in the west!

LETS GET TO THE BREAKDOWN

This is a breakdown of projected costs for a year. While our skiers make our team the best on the west, none of this would be achievable without our beloved boats. With all the love and appreciation we have for our water crafts, the maintenance and required work to keep them up and running comes at a great expense. In our current school year the majority of the team's yearly budget has been allocated to the repair of our boat. This has been in addition to the set costs for our current boats maintenance and use. For our teams activities to be possible the club allocates a set amount to pay for the current yearly lake usage and boat storage.

WHAT YOUR DONATION WILL CONTRIBUTE

Our fundraisers main goal is to raise $8,000 to pay for the repair of our boat. All donation will go towards this goal. If we are to raise more than our goal, then all remaining donations will go towards other expenses such as maintenance and travel costs.
