Every summer, dozens of high school, college, and professional level students travel to UCLA from all over the world to experience our world class training in Theater, Film and Television. Our programs aim to give students from all walks of life and socioeconomic backgrounds a taste of the UCLA experience. A little piece of what it might feel like to stand center stage in a 200 seat theater surrounded by a community of diverse voices. What it might be like to run their own film set or animate their own short film. Our summer institutes aim to expand the reach of UCLA’s programming in the arts as well as make resources available to students who never realized a career in the arts was a possibility.
UCLA’s mission is to have students from all backgrounds and walks of life experience UCLA’s world-class programs. The generosity of donors, like yourself, allow us to offer scholarships so finances are not a hurdle to aspiring, young artists having access to our top-tier training and facilities.

There are 22 film and theater sessions provided by our faculty.
There are 52 TFT staff employed every summer to run our amazing institute and even more faculty to teach.
There are 87 steps that comprise the Tongva Steps (formerly Janss Steps) on campus.
Everything helps cover student expenses from programming to housing.
The students participating in these programs are the storytellers of tomorrow. Help make their dreams possible by supporting scholarships for them.
