Our Crowdfunding Groups
A diverse community of UCLA students, UCLA Radio has been broadcasting quality programming on our campus since 1962, when we were established in the basement of Dykstra Residential Hall. Now operating out of Ackerman and broadcasting online, our audience consists of listeners in such diverse places as Australia, Italy, England, and Brazil.
The station, comprised of over 150 volunteer DJs and staff, is completely student run and listener supported through charitable donations.
Our eclectic programming ranges from "Game Time" station game show hour to "Time Warp," which chooses a different year every week and celebrates select songs and artists along with their place in music history.
In 2012, our station was named the #1 Student Run Internet-Only College Radio Station in the country by College Music Journal.
We are positively glowing from the out pour of support we have received from our generous donors! With the help of our worldwide listeners, family, friends, and fellow DJs, we have reached our initial goal of $5,000 to overhaul our station's technical needs and abilities. Thanks to you, DJs can broadcast with fully functioning microphones, headphones, PA systems and soundboards. But we're not stopping there! Now that we have the funds to revamp our interior, we need help with the exterior.
We'd like to share with you an extraordinary opportunity to continue our crowdfunding project and improve our station even further for not only our current DJs, but generations of DJs to come. We're fundraising another $5,000 to create a hospitable environment for radio producing and DJ interaction. Our goal is to create a clean, safe space that allows DJs to establish a radio community in an area that serves as a pristine, fully functioning broadcasting center.
By remodeling the station, we're hoping to create a place that not only attracts but develops the best and brightest DJs and musical guests that modern college radio has to offer, all the while providing our listeners with the original and creative programming the world has come to love us for. But we can't do this without you!
