3 Days Left in 2018 Turning The Tides Fundraising Campaign!

December 10, 2018

Hello previous supporters of the Ocean Acidification Team,

There are only 3 short days left in the 2018-2019 Ocean Acidification Team’s fundraising campaign, and if you’re interested in renewing your support to fund a scientific effort to mitigate significant impacts of climate change, time is running out to donate!

We are in the final days of the campaign and making the last push to our goal of $3,000. We're 73% of the way there, but we need your help to get all the way there! As you know, your contributions fuel the efforts of UCLA students who are conducting research on marine vegetation that has the potential to alleviate the effects of ocean acidification. We are prepared to record and analyze data regarding the effects that certain marine plants have on ocean pH levels and whether they are a viable solution to ocean acidification.

If you’ve already made a donation to our campaign, thank you! You are a true partner in UCLA’s work to study and mitigate climate change.

If you wish to support the next group of great young men and women that are working hard to continue the legacy you helped establish, we appreciate donations of every size, seriously, $1 or more. To donate, please click here https://spark.ucla.edu/project/11230?fbclid=IwAR1eaO0-zGWl9W4zAUOlsQpyZKtIPkLRFOlz6yDbLhfBOVBzFzGv6da7Wn4.

You could be the one who gets us to our goal. Thank you one last time and Go Bruins!

Best regards,

Ryan, Emma, Mackenzie, Evan, Gonzalo, Eyal, and Britanie

Turning the Tides 2018 Campaign Launch!

November 19, 2018

We are Year 3 of the UCLA Undergraduate Research Team for Ocean Acidification in the Santa Monica Bay. We are reaching out to you as a valued supporter to tell you about some exciting new developments in the project this year!

We are continuing our partnership with The Bay Foundation to help curb the destructive force of ocean acidification before it is too late. Thanks to your funding, last year we were able to use UCLA’s research Zodiac to collect data on ocean acidification in the Santa Monica Bay. We hope to further this research and continue to increase awareness of human impact in the bay and susceptibility of marine species inhabiting these waters.

I hope that we can count on your help once again! Your support and donations will help fund this year’s fieldwork on UCLA’s research Zodiac boat. We are hoping to conduct another three full days of field research as well as conduct laboratory research to process our samples. We’ve designed a website where you can learn more about our progress and donate. I encourage you to check it out! A donation of even $1 helps get us closer to our goal, and just like last year we have some exciting rewards lined up for our donors! https://spark.ucla.edu/project/11230

Ocean Acidification is happening right now and our project's success is dependent on your support and generosity! Thank you in advance and be on the lookout for further updates on the progress of our team and our final results!

We Have Reached Our Goal! Thank You!

Turning the Tides is happy to announce that we have surpassed our goal of $1,000 for our 5-day Spark Campaign Relaunch! We are extremely thankful for all the support we received in such a short amount of time and are excited to go out in the field and research ocean acidification. This wouldn't be possible without all of you!

Want to follow our team as we continue our ocean acidification project? Curious about what data we will be collecting? Make sure to follow our blog updates on our recently launched our team website, turningthetidesucla.wordpress.com
