Thanks for visiting my page! For me, public health is not merely something I was taught in a classroom, or even just what I strive for at my job. It’s something I’ve lived and experienced firsthand.
In 2012, I entered UCLA barely able to finish a single mile in less than 10 minutes. Stressed out by school, I found my outlet by taking full advantage of the campus’s safe and well-maintained running paths. Step by literal step, I gradually worked my way up to today, where I've finished multiple marathons, done the equivalent of running from LA to upstate New York and burned over 300,000 calories!
2019 will be the third year in a row I've run the Los Angeles Marathon to support the place that changed my life. LA’s a great course and the spectators here cheer louder and longer than those at any other race I’ve done. Last year, I smashed my personal record but finished a mere 16 seconds short of my dream goal. This time around, I intend to finish the job. Let's do this!
WHERE'S THE MONEY GOING?
Every cent will allow current students to participate in PAID summer fieldwork, allowing them to focus on learning by doing in the real world instead of choosing between projects based on finances. In the past, students have worked throughout the country and around the world. Plus, your donation is completely tax deductible!
HOW MUCH ARE YOU ASKING FOR?
This will be my 17th race overall, so how about $17? On the other hand, a marathon is 26.2 miles. Perhaps a dollar for every mile with $26.20?
THANK YOU so much for much for your support! Race day is March 24.
