Dragon Boat is a 2,000 year old Chinese tradition that has since grown into a worldwide competitive water racing sport. Founded in 2004, UCLA Dragon Boat is a student-run competitive Tier I club sports team. Our team prides itself in building a diverse and tight-knit community of students who are committed and embody the spirit of competition and excellence. We are 50 paddlers strong, making up two race crews: Blue and Gold. For the past 13 years, the team has demonstrated a strong sense of enthusiasm and spirit for the sport, while maintaining an underdog mentality. Through hard work and dedication, our team not only helps its members develop as paddlers, but also as students, athletes, and leaders.
Both on and off the water, paddlers of UCLA Dragon Boat emphasize the importance of excellence, teamwork, and community. Throughout the week, our paddlers train rigorously in preparation for our quarterly races against some of the nation's best, from California to international teams.

Help support UCLA Dragon Boat today! Although each paddler pays their yearly dues, as college students, funds are always an issue. Dragon boat is no different. With your support, you can help members of our team follow their passion without the financial burden. With the increasing cost of attending a university, no contribution is too small to help out one of our paddlers. Help UCLA Dragon Boat and its paddlers overcome the obstacles we face in our fight towards victory!
The original goal of this campaign is to raise money to attend our race at the Long Beach Dragon Boat Festival in April in Long Beach, CA. This is the last competition of the academic year, and the last race that this crew in its entirety will be in together. For many seniors and graduating third years, this will be the last dragon boat race they compete in. Within just a week we've achieved that goal and it is all thanks to you! We are so blown away by the amount of support and enthusiasm you've shared with our cause! With about 26 days left in our campaign, we've boosted our goal to $2000 to continue to help support our paddlers in future races this year! This year, we're introducing a new race at Castaic Lake! With your help, you will help UCLA Dragon Boat and its paddlers attend this race and experience more of what the dragon boat community has to offer! $5 would cover the cost of water and sports drinks for a paddler so they don't get dehydrated throughout the day.
$10 will provide gas money for one car to make it to the race and back.
In order to compete with some of the best teams, our gear (i.e. paddles and life jackets) must be in working condition. With your donation of $50, you can help us repair and equip the team with the gear we need.
Race day is long and our paddlers are exposed to the sun for hours, with your donation of $100 we can get an E-Z Up Tent to provide shade in between races.
With our team growing every year, we want to represent our team and the legacy we have built over these past 13 years! With your donation of $200 we can get an updated team banner to show our team pride!
With your generous donation of $300, we can register one of our boats in the Mixed 500m Division to compete against some of the best teams from across the region!
With your generous donation of $600, we can register one of our boats in the Mixed 500m and 250m Sprints Divisions to compete against some of the state's best!
