We did it!

April 13, 2018

We’re incredibly thrilled to announce that we’ve reached our crowdfunding goal!  Not only that – the donations are still rolling in!

A huge THANK YOU to the hundreds of Laurel and Hardy fans who made a contribution!  The outpouring of support is proof that Stan and Ollie are still cherished after all these years – and that their films are national treasures to be preserved, studied and enjoyed.  As a result of your generosity, we can now make PERFECT DAY (1929) look and sound as good as it did 89 years ago, and ensure that it’s saved for generations to come.

Until the campaign ends on Monday, April 16, the UCLA Spark site will continue to accept donations.  Any additional funds we raise will be used toward Laurel and Hardy preservation projects, so keep spreading the word!  Details regarding THAT'S THAT (1937) and other donor perks will be sent at the end of the campaign.

Thank you from all of us at UCLA Film & Television Archive!

Final Week!

April 06, 2018

More than 220 Laurel and Hardy fans around the world have given to our crowdfunding campaign!  Thank you for your contributions, big and small!

With just one week left, there's still a $7K hurdle before we reach our goal.  Help us by spreading the word!

Here's a newly uploaded clip of Laurel and Hardy in Washington, D.C. from our Hearst Metrotone News collection.  The boys join a parade of Hollywood stars to show their support for the Army-Navy Relief Fund.  Additional Laurel and Hardy videos can be found on our website: ucla.in/2GDJXpH

19 days left!

March 26, 2018

Thanks to your generous donation, we've raised an impressive $30K for our Laurel and Hardy restoration project!

We still need $15K to reach our campaign goal, so please help spread the word!  Every contribution counts!

We interviewed Scott MacQueen, Head of Preservation, about PERFECT DAY (1929) and why we need to save the duo's legacy: "The Laurel and Hardy films were so popular worldwide that the original negatives were overprinted tremendously... they wore out in many cases, many don't even survive."
