We are the UCLA Table Tennis club. We foster a community of table tennis enthusiasts of all experience levels, ranging from novice beginners to nationally ranked players. We facilitate a practice space for table tennis players to play recreationally but we also foster competitive teams. In addition to our varsity team, we have 5 JV teams that go out to compete against all the other Southern California schools.
Our varsity team has consistently been the top ranked school in Southern California and repeatedly ranked among the top 10 in the nation. Three members of the current Varsity team have represented the United States in the World University Games in Korea and Taiwan. Though our varsity members are highly skilled, they are also very down to Earth people. Varsity members have given a lot back to the table tennis community within UCLA. For all the recreational players and newcomers to table tennis, varsity members provide instructional classes for these new players to learn the fundamentals of the sport. This is particularly exciting because most recreational table tennis players have never been taught any formal techniques. Through these classes and training sessions, many of our beginner players have been able to reach tournament level. Overall, we are a close knit family that supports each other in our efforts to train and improve our skills.

We need funding to both support our varsity members on their trip to nationals and to improve our practice facility. Nationals will be held in Round Rock, Texas this year. The flights to Texas, the housing cost, and registration costs easily deplete all club funds and creates a massive financial burden for our Varsity players. Of equal importance, our club is in desperate need of practice facility improvement. Despite our competitive success and large member base of over 50 players, our training facility is inadequate. We only have 4 table tennis tables but one is almost completely broken and another is in poor condition. The money we raise would also go towards a new table and other equipment to improve our practice space.
You can help us in our journey to nationals and facility improvements through charitable donations! Your donation makes a huge difference to us because UCLA offers minimal financial support to our club. Most of our club funds are self funded. Every little donation makes an impact. Small donations eventually create waves of impact when everyone’s contribution is combined. Our club is relatively new so we do not have a strong alumni or support network. Your contribution would be greatly appreciated by each and every one of our club members.
