UCLA’s Game Music Ensemble is a student organization that brings musicians together to perform and celebrate original video game music. With an orchestra, a choir, and chamber ensembles performing multiple concerts throughout the year, GME provides UCLA students with an avenue to express their passion for both music and video games. With around 160 active members, GME is also a contributor to the growing popularity of video game orchestras across the nation.
GME's winter concert in Powell Library
Over the last three years, GME has grown from 38 to around 160 dedicated members. Such growth has been very exciting and well received by our fans; we have been able to put on two successful concerts per academic year. With your generous support, you can help us reach even further heights.
Up to now, while we have performed with a high standard of music quality, other performance aspects have been limited by our funds. Our long term dream is to perform in well respected venues such as Royce Hall, and we are excited to take our first steps with you today!
Did you know?
Reserving the Schoenberg Music Building auditorium for a single concert costs $8,000, and Royce Hall is a staggering $30,000.
As you can see, Royce Hall is a dream for the future. But today, you can help us step forward by moving us into an acoustically designed concert venue with better performance dates, replacing damaged equipment, and expanding our reach to the further UCLA community and beyond. We have a unique passion and sound that we want to share with all of you, because game music is a culture that all should be able to experience and enjoy! Your fully tax-deductible donation will help support our year-round concert efforts and help us level up to our dream!
