The UCLA Tuba-Euphonium Ensemble is a group comprised of studio members past an present within the Herb Alpert School of Music's Tuba/Euphonium Studio. Under the guidance of professor Aubrey Foard, we have worked hard to prepare our repertoire for competition at the upcoming International Women's Brass Conference, meeting for regular late night rehearsals on top of our normal work/school balance. Now, we are asking for your help in taking this final step and getting us to the competition.
Since our organization is student driven, funding opportunities for this project have been hard to come by. While we have procured some support through avenues such as the Herb Alpert School of Music Student Opportunity Fund, the amount we have been able to raise is not sufficient to our meet our needs, which include travel, food, lodging, conference registration, and more.
By supporting us, and by extension this conference, you are helping to support role models for future female brass musicians, an indispensable part of combating a glaring deficiency in the world of brass music. Furthermore, you support the cause of the arts at large. To travel is to grow, and supporting our participation in the ideological and cultural cross-pollination provided by this conference, you plant the seeds for a more diverse, inclusive future for our chosen field.
The stated mission of the IWBC is
'...to educate, develop, support, and promote women brass musicians while inspiring continued excellence and opportunities in the broader musical world. Membership is open to all women and men who would like to support this effort.'
This is a goal that we as a studio are strongly invested in supporting, as well as a goal that we feel reflects the goals of UCLA, its alumni, and its most frequent and loyal supporters. We hope that you will help us in our efforts to represent our school, and improve ourselves and our field.
At this level, your gift will pay for breakfast for one student.
A donation at this level will cover one students organization registration fee.
A donation at this level will provide one day of food for one student
At this level, your gift will cover gas and other travel expenditures through the trip for one student
At this level, your gift will pay for one student's Conference Registration
At this level, your gift will cover both the organization registration fee and conference registration fee for one student
At this level, your gift will cover one student's housing fee throughout the conference
At this level, your (remarkable) gift will provide housing for the entire group, for the entire conference.
