Hello! My name is Renee Lee, and I am so honored to be a part of this program this year. The Mattel Youth Ambassador Program has opened my eyes to new opportunities for me to give back to the community. For the past few years, I have participated in many programs that give me the chance to help children out--including tutoring, teaching violin, and coaching. Doing these things helped me begin to enjoy such activities and so I developed a love for giving back to the community.
I also understand that it might be difficult for people, especially children, to feel comfortable or safe in a hospital. When I was younger, I was sent to the emergency room for stitches right above my left eye; I remember feeling alone and scared. Because of this, I empathize with children who are afraid of visiting the hospital, even if it might just be for an annual checkup.
With my empathy and love for making children happy combined, I have decided to raise money to donate to Mattel Children's Hospital. I plan on raising money by attaching a link to my fundraising page on YouTube videos of my orchestra's spring and winter concerts as well as other orchestral videos we upload every two to three months. Each dollar will go towards making children's hospital stays more comfortable and compassionate. Any amount makes a huge difference!
