About the Team
UCLA's Men's Rowing is a Varsity Club Sport recognized by both the Pac-12 Conference and the American Collegiate Rowing Association. The team practices at 5:45 AM five days a week out of our beautiful boathouse in Marina Del Rey and twice a week on land at Drake Stadium. This totals to a time commitment of roughly 20 hours per week which is undertaken by student-athletes in the truest sense of the term. The time commitment of rowing demands our athletes be extremely hardworking, as we aim to excel both athletically and academically.
How you can help
As a Club Sport, UCLA Men's Rowing receives NO money from UCLA Athletics. Because of this, the team must rely on a combination of dues from its athletes and donations from generous friends, family and alumni to sustain its activities. Our goal this year is to improve on our racing successes and compete for a national championship. Rowing is an inherently expensive sport, and competing at a high level is no different. In order to do so, we will need help financing equipment, entry fees, travel accommodations and food for 50 athletes and coaches. We also need funding specifically to attend ACRA National Championship in Oak Ridge Tennessee.
The Men’s Rowing team aims to continue developing young men and women who will endeavor to emulate the successes of past members of this storied program. Our alumni network consists of numerous individuals who have succeeded in academic, athletic and business endeavors, and your financial support will allow many future UCLA alumni to reach unparalleled heights in their respective fields. Your support will also allow numerous student-athletes to develop into dedicated, hard-working, and competitive individuals who undoubtedly will hold a variety of leadership positions throughout life.
