Who Are We?
UCLA Field Hockey is a group of dedicated and talented women ranging from players with years of experience to brand-new players who just want to try out the sport. Our love for field hockey brings us together, but we are so much more than our athletics. Our team creates a sense of community, helping players to connect with a diverse group of girls and form friendships and skills that will last long past our time at UCLA.
We just completed our first ever season as a part of the Western Collegiate Field Hockey Conference, and as a new team, do not receive any financial support from UCLA. We finished the season with a 2-2 record, (beating our USC rivals 4-2!), but our lack of gear and goals makes it difficult to practice and compete at the levels of our surrounding teams. We are looking for your help to raise $2,500 to cover the costs of goals, protective gear, and travel expenses.
How You Can Help
Our 2019 fundraiser helped us to start the field hockey program, raising over $2,800 to purchase basic equipment, gear, and jerseys. Thanks to your generous gifts we were able to compete in our first ever league games this season! In just a couple years we've grown from a small group of girls scrimmaging amongst each other to an organized team competing against other schools, and we are so proud of how far we've come.
In the upcoming year we hope to do even more. Without goals we were unable to host any games and had to travel to compete - making it difficult for our friends and supporters to come watch us play. With your support, we hope to be able to host the first ever field hockey game at UCLA, bringing our program to greater heights than we could have imagined.
