Our Crowdfunding Groups
With its launch last summer, the UCLA M.D.-Ph.D. Summer Research Fellowship Program welcomed four inaugural undergraduate fellows. Over the course of eight weeks, these students explored pathways to pursuing an M.D.-Ph.D, which included workshop and lab research participation and individualized mentorship.
The program was incredibly successful, and we are pleased to share some words of appreciation from this impressive group of students:

The next generation of physician-scientists will be far more diverse than previous generations, but many systemic and cultural barriers still limit the entry and advancement of physician-scientists from different backgrounds. Diversifying the physician-scientist workforce is imperative to addressing the needs of an increasingly diverse population.
The success of this fellowship program was in large part to our MSTP alumni and friends, who helped make this possible.
