UCLA Cricket After a Huge Win Against Rivals USCUCLA Cricket is a club brimming with talented young men and women who are all eager to further the sport and represent UCLA competitively. After having become an officially recognized club sport less than two years ago, we punched well above our weight by placing second in the Pacific Zonals of the NCCA (National College Cricket Association) and were invited to the national tournament, overcoming the well-established and funded teams of CalTech, UCSD, and even USC. And that was the result of pure passion and love for the game—but that can only sustain us for so long.
UCLA Cricket After Practice Matches Against UCIWe aren’t a significantly funded team, and that limits us from holding quality practice sessions in cricketing facilities and having equipment and resources from which we would significantly benefit. Some expenses that we would prioritize using the funds for include new protective equipment (pads, thigh guards, helmets), a live-streaming service (Bozu–$2700) for us to analyze our game-play and improve our technique, transportation (gas for regular matches and plane tickets to annual national championships), and tournament costs: around $7000 for the Southern California Cricket Association and around $1000 for the NCCA Zonal Championships.
We hope you will donate to us because we’re an up-and-coming team with a proven record of cricketing excellence. We anticipate being competitive at local and national tournaments. We qualified for Nationals this year, but we need your help to get there next year when we are ready to win it all.
