Engineer's Week 2023 Fundraiser

Who Are We?

The Engineering Society at UCLA (ESUC) is the umbrella organization that facilitates communication and events between the engineering student body and the UCLA School of Engineering.

In order to support the thriving engineering community at UCLA, ESUC hosts E-Week to bring together students across different clubs and majors. ESUC events further our initiatives in community building, career development, outreach, and more. Through our events we provide engineering students with resources to help them navigate their four years and beyond. To help cover the costs of these events, we’re asking for your support in helping to make our work possible.

What is E-Week?

Engineers Week (E-Week) is an annual week-long series of events hosted by ESUC during Week 2 of Spring Quarter in celebration of all things engineering.  Events held during E-Week are designed to bring students together through innovation, outreach, and fun as well as promote individual development.

How can you help?

We are asking for your support to help fund the efforts of engineering students to innovate, participate in outreach, and build community with one another. Gifts from donors will help provide supplies for Kids Day, cover the cost of venues to host hundreds of students in community building, and promote innovation amongst the Samueli students. We thank you in advance for your support!

E-Week Events

During Kids Day, hundreds of elementary school students are invited to UCLA for a day of hands-on learning outside of a classroom setting. This is a rewarding experience for older students to volunteer their time to the community and help foster a love for learning and engineering in younger students.

Networking Night hosts representatives from different companies to come to talk to UCLA students about the future, industry, and advice while providing students valuable interactions and networking opportunities.

Additionally, in the spirit of E-Week, students will get the chance to show off their engineering skills through a classic egg drop with a twist in the Rocket Egg Drop Event. The egg will be launched off the balcony with a bottle rocket of their design. Contestants will be judged on their design, construction, and inventiveness and win prizes during the awards ceremony after the eggs have been launched.

Engineers Ball will also be held. It is a chance for engineering students to unwind from the stresses of the year and have fun with friends! With the many tasks that engineering students often take on in addition to their classes, ESUC aims to create a relaxing environment where students can dress up and have fun with crafts and games provided at the event.

Furthermore, E-Week Field Day encourages friendship among engineers of different backgrounds, interests, and talents by engaging in outdoor activities and enjoying food together. On the final weekend of E-Week, an E-Week Hackathon will be held to engage engineering students in a challenging task that requires a multimodal approach to solve the problem.
