Support Women's Club Basketball For 2023!

About Us

Six years ago, a women's club basketball program did not exist at UCLA. In response, in early 2017, a group of athletes who shared the same passion and desire to play basketball at a competitive level combined their efforts, and thus the UCLA Women's Club Basketball program was established. Because of their proactivity, and the generous help of donors, UCLA Women's Club Basketball had a successful inaugural season in 2017-18.

The 2022-23 season is our sixth season together, and we need your help! The program demands several costs: travel, tournament fees, coach and referee compensation, as well as uniforms and other basketball gear. Completely student-run, UCLA Women's Club Basketball works hard to promote a fun and competitive environment for its players; however, we would be so appreciative of any support we receive!

Every year we participate in the NIRSA Western Regional tournament, the last time having been held at UT Arlington in Dallas, Texas in 2021, where we lost a semifinal heartbreaker. Because of COVID-19 precautions, the western region could not find a host, therefore we plan on showing our commitment to the sport and competition by attending the National tournament being held in College Park, Maryland. We would appreciate any support we can get to be able to make this happen. We would be using the funds acquired through your donations to cover base expenses as previously discussed, and any extras will be put towards the transportation costs and tournament fees.

As a young club established in 2017, the UCLA Women's Club Basketball Team lacks many resources, including experience and an extensive alumni base. The initial years of this program are particularly important; we must work to create an excellent foundation so that the future athletes of this program can be provided with security. Club basketball demands expenses for many articles, seen in the breakdown above, therefore, running the program with a minimal budget is impossible. Although the club makes efforts to host its own fundraisers on campus, the program's overall costs are still outstanding. With some help, though, the financial burden can be alleviated, allowing us to compete and grow as both basketball players and human beings.
