UCLA Cricket After a Huge Win Against Rivals USC
UCLA Cricket is a club brimming with talented young players who are all eager to further the sport and represent UCLA competitively. After having become an officially recognized club sport less than two years ago, we punched above our weight by placing first in the Pacific Zonals of the NCCA (National College Cricket Association) and are now invited to the national tournament. And that was the result of pure passion and love for the game—but that can only sustain us for so long.
We aren’t a significantly funded team, and that limits us from holding quality practice sessions in cricketing facilities and having equipment and resources from which we would significantly benefit. Your support can help cover tournament costs—around $600 for the Southern California Cricket Association and around $1000 for the NCCA Zonal Championships; transportation—gas for regular matches and plane tickets to annual national championships; new protective equipment such as pads, thigh guards, helmet; and a live-streaming service (Bozu) for us to analyze our game-play and improve our technique.
We’re an up-and-coming team with a proven record of cricketing excellence. We need your support to continue being competitive at local and national tournaments. We qualified for Nationals this year, and we will need your help to win it all.
