To our donors and other community supporters,
We are overwhelmed by the amount of support we have received over the past month! As our SPARK campaign comes to a close, we would like to graciously thank you for all your donations and support during this time and give you a final update on our campaign goal.
As of date, Bruin Shelter has raised $5,838. Your continued generosity, encouragement, and support have helped us reach this amount, and we are forever indebted to you all. With the funds we have raised thus far, we continue our endeavors in conducting our shelter operations as well as working towards long-term solutions to those facing the pressing housing crisis in our community.
Every dollar raised from this campaign is a step towards addressing student houselessness in Los Angeles and beyond. We hope our work shines through a positive change in the student housing crisis throughout our community, and we thank you once again for the generosity that propels us toward a sustainable solution.

Just wanted to give an update on the progress of Bruin Shelter’s SPARK Campaign to support students experiencing housing insecurity. We’re happy to report that we’ve raised 23% of our goal so far! Bruin Shelter is forever grateful for the generosity of supporters like you, and we hope we can work together to keep providing space and support for our peers aspiring to succeed in higher education despite struggles with the housing crisis in Los Angeles.

A donation of $5 can help buy small items such as hygiene and first aid products for our shelter inventory.
A donation of $25 helps pay for new kitchenware for our staff volunteers to cook for Bruin Shelter’s residents every night.
A donation of $50 helps pay for new sheets and bedding to ensure Bruin Shelter’s residents enjoy a comfortable stay.
A donation of $100 helps us buy a week’s worth of groceries for dinners for Bruin Shelter’s residents.
A donation of $250 helps us pay for new clothing and school supplies to ensure Bruin Shelter’s residents are prepared to attend classes.
A donation of $500 helps us fund outreach and advocacy projects in collaboration with mutual aid organizations to help combat housing insecurity in the Los Angeles community.
A donation of $1,000 helps us fund temporary housing arrangements during academic breaks, as well as facilitate residents’ transitions from Bruin Shelter to permanent housing.
