Our 2023 fundraising campaign has ended, (though this is sad, we will probably overcome) but you can still support Men's Ultimate Frisbee by clicking here. Thank you so much to everyone who donated or has supported us in any way. Our club and seasons quite literally could not happen without the support of our friends, families, UCLA alumni, and everyone else kind enou
UCLA's Men's Ultimate is a student-run competitive team that competes in D1 collegiate tournaments across the country. We've been throwing flicks since '96, but this year is special. This year we have the best shot we've ever had in our history to go to nationals. On our journey to nationals, we've not only become a stronger team, but a family that has each others' backs on the field, around campus, and in our lives. From team dinners to studying together, for us, ultimate is our community.
The first costs to our club—all of the costs associated with practicing, like agility ladders, discs, cones, and renting field space—could reasonably be covered by the dues that we pay as players. However, due to the relatively small size of ultimate, we travel to weekend-long tournaments to compete with other teams. That is where the costs for the team exceed what most of us players can afford.
In order to compete, we need to rent vans to drive across California, buy plane tickets to fly to Tennessee and Ohio, purchase motel rooms to stay in (usually at least 5 players per room to keep costs minimal), and more. Our goal is to ensure that no player will ever be unable to travel to and participate in a tournament due to costs. While it would be incredible to raise enough money to make every tournament cost-free for all players, that is not feasible. We are trying to get closer and closer to that goal every year, but naturally it is difficult.
What we can do, however, is ensure that those players who cannot afford to pay part or all of the costs themselves can still go and compete with their teammates. Naturally, we also need to be able to ensure that our amazing coaches don't have to pay for any of the costs associated with traveling given that they already donate so much time and effort to us players.
Last year we were able to afford an incredibly fun spring season, and we also were able to participate in a rare fall season which took place to make up for the spring season we all missed out on in 2021 due to COVID. That incredible support absolutely did not go unnoticed by us players, and we can't overstate how grateful we are to you all for making that possible.
This year is different from past years, however. This year, we have what is undoubtedly our best chance at making nationals in team history. We are all completely bought in this year to giving the team everything we have. Unfortunately, nationals, being a tournament we have never gone to before, would incur a significant cost, and so we will need extra funds to be able to attend.
In the end, though, only one thing really matters to us. That we get to play ultimate with each other. It's no hyperbole to say that without you all and your generosity, we could not have this club. We could not do what brings all of us joy, friendships, and community. And for continuing to give that to us, we cannot thank you enough.

It appears on Amazon™ that a pack of 50 cones is $21.99, so with a little bit of math, we are providing a tier that pays for three cones!
We need lots of frisbees to be able to keep spiking them after we score, so this tier pays for one frisbee! Please note that they actually cost $10, but we figured if we wrote out $9.99 you would think you were donating less so we would get more donations.
The Chevron™ in Westwood at 10984 Le Conte Ave currently charges $4.70 per gallon of gasoline. Given that the average white van gets 13 miles per gallon, and that we can fit 8 people into a van, this donation provides enough gasoline for 4 players' transportation to a tournament 119 miles away in San Diego!
For just a $50 donation, we will assign your name to one player. If at any time during practice, that player's motivation for the team falters, they have to shout your name and remember that you didn't donate so that they could be weak.
Your $100 donation will pay for a motel room that houses five players for one night of a weekend tournament. Just 5 of these $100 donations covers lodging for the whole team for a night!
This generous donation of $250 provides funds for a round trip plane ticket to a tournament in Tennessee! We are able to make $250 sufficient for a round trip plane ticket across the country because we are flying during the middle of the night to maximize our use of funds.
A $500 donation covers the entire cost of a bid to attend a tournament. Without paying this, we would not be able to attend a given tournament, so this donation, simply put, singlehandedly allows us to attend a tournament.
This donation will cover our entire costs of lodging for the team for a whole weekend tournament!
