Stop Student Hunger at UCLA

**We are officially sold out of hand-made ceramic bowls and our Spark Campaign is now only accepting donations to support UCLA CPO Food Closet. **

Concerned that over 40% of students within the UC system reported being food insecure, the ceramics area in the Department of Art is hosting a Yummy Bowl Benefit fundraiser to support our community during an attenuated time of need.

Ceramics is a communal activity by nature, and it is the ceramics area's mission to expand that communal work into social justice work. Our Yummy Bowl Benefit is a fundraiser where students, staff, and faculty make handmade bowls to raise money for UCLA’s CPO Food Closet to highlight and amplify their good work and to bring attention to this pressing issue of food insecurity in our UCLA community.

The Food Closet is an emergency relief program that is designed to meet the short-term food security needs of the UCLA community, which includes all UCLA students (undergraduate and graduate), staff, visiting scholars, student researchers, postdocs, and faculty who need food.

On May 18, ceramic bowls will be available for pick up at UCLA Broad Art Center Plaza on campus between 11:30 am - 1:30 pm. Lulu, the restaurant at the Hammer Museum, will be serving a yummy vegetarian dish that you can fill your bowl with.

Date: Thursday, May 18

Location: UCLA Broad Art Center Plaza

Time: 11:30 am - 1:30 pm

100% of the funds we raise will go to the CPO Food Closet.

Thank you to the UCLA Friends of Clay and our many volunteers for their support in the creation of the bowls.

The CPO Food Closet operates as a fully-stocked pantry with fresh produce, beverages, bread, canned foods, and hygiene products.

The Community Programs Office (CPO) has supported students at UCLA for over 30 years!

** Bowls must be picked up in person on May 18 at the Yummy Bowl Benefit. Limit 3 bowls per person.

** Bowls that are not picked up will be used for future bowl benefits to support the UCLA Food Closet.

** Bowls cannot be reserved in advance.

** All bowls will be selected at the time of the event by participants.
