UCLA Samueli Senior Class Gift: Makerspace Support

The UCLA Samueli Senior Class Gift has been a tradition for the past 19 years. Each year, the Senior Class unites around a common cause to leave a lasting impact on future Bruin Engineers as they leave UCLA.

This year, the Class of 2023 is supporting the UCLA Samueli Makerspace. The Makerspace is a space for all engineering students to pursue creative endeavors outside of the classroom. Students use the Makerspace to design, build, and create everything from capsules, to test out new medication delivery systems, to parachutes, to test out the terminal velocity of new materials. Sometimes, they just make fun items for their Engineering Clubs like one-of-a-kind totes and frog plushies (ribbit ribbit)! It's the only place on campus where engineering students can collaborate with each other and showcase their creativity—It's a community! :)

The funds raised in the Senior Class Campaign will be used to gift the Makerspace with the latest and greatest tools so the next generation of Bruin Engineers can continue to collaborate and create!

For graduating seniors who make a gift of $20.23, they'll receive an Order of the Engineer's Ring*. The stainless-steel ring is worn on the fifth finger of the working hand by engineers who have accepted the "Obligation of an Engineer" Oath in a Ring Ceremony—Get yours by Senior Celebration!

For graduating seniors who make a gift of $50, they'll also receive a Philanthropy Cord with a Makerspace Charm*. The philanthropy cord is a gold cord with a blue Makerspace Charm that can be worn with your cap and gown. It symbolizes your commitment to UCLA Samueli and supports future generations of Bruin Engineers!

For graduating seniors who make a donation of $100, they'll also receive a Young Alumni Boelter Society Membership*. A Boelter Society Membership includes an invite to the Dean's Holiday Party, early access to events and exclusive event receptions, and the prestigious Boelter Society Newsletter.

For graduating seniors who make a gift of $250, they'll also receive a UCLA Samueli Alumni Camper Mug*.

For anyone who makes a gift of $500, they'll also receive a Digital Makerspace Tour.

For anyone who makes a gift of $1,000, they'll also receive an In-Person Makerspace Tour where you can "Make Your Own Charm".

*Perks are intended for 2023 Graduating Seniors.
