Welcome to the UCLA Athletics Day of Giving!
The Elegant Bruinettes at UCLA is a danceline team created to highlight the African-American dance style derived from Historically Black Colleges & Universities (HBCUs). The team is an inclusive space for Black students to find a way to represent themselves on campus and to express their love of dance in the stands and on the field during official UCLA basketball and football games. It is a place for self-expression, self-love, and community.
Your generosity toward the premier collegiate danceline at UCLA will help provide invaluable support to the university's newest addition to UCLA Athletics. Every gift has a positive impact on their ability to succeed in the classroom, in competition, and in the community.
Here are some items your gift will support:
Members of the UCLA Bruinettes dedicate more than 20 hours per week to practice, train, and perform at UCLA game days and special events. This is a heavy time commitment and the Bruinettes work tirelessly in preparation for their upcoming performances, with practices from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on some days.
The university’s first danceline team performed during UCLA’s Black Excellence football game against North Carolina Central, a historically Black university, at the Rose Bowl. The Bruinettes’ Rose Bowl performance marks a major milestone in UCLA’s history and having the Bruinettes on UCLA’s campus is a monumental step that could transform the university’s culture around Black representation.
As the overall cost of providing an ELITE student-athlete experience continues to rise, support from our Bruin Family is more crucial than ever. We hope you'll give to the UCLA Bruinettes today!
