What is CampMed?
CampMed is an organization at UCLA that hosts a FREE 3-day hands-on, immersive camp for underserved high school students from Title I schools around the Los Angeles county who have an interest in pursuing a career within the healthcare field and higher education. Through this camp and various mentorship events taking place throughout the school year, we aim to empower our students by providing them with UCLA student mentors and counselors, who will provide them the knowledge and support to succeed in their educational and healthcare career journeys. We believe in diversity, representation, and shared knowledge within the UCLA community, where we foster both academic and personal growth.
In order to organize this camp and mentorship events, there are a ton of resources that are required to run successful activities and experiences. This includes the rental of a campsite facility, materials for suture kits, food, and memorabilia which would greatly be supported by your donations!

You can directly support students and counselors at CampMed with your donations by ensuring the UCLA and Los Angeles community have opportunities to gain education and experience that empower them to become leaders we need now and in the future.
Your contribution, no matter the size, directly supports our organization and students by providing the funds they need to advance their opportunities at UCLA and beyond.
Mentorship and hands-on experience can play a big role in building diversity and representation in the field of healthcare and higher education. 33.5% of all students in the state of California attend Title I schools. Even if it is a very small fraction of this population we are able to reach, CampMed helps contribute resources and support that are valuable and comes from these shared and worthwhile community experiences at camp.
How You Can Help!
Your generous donations will allow us to host our camp at an outdoor facility with room for activities, provide resources and tools for workshops, and support for ensuring a safe, fun, positive, fulfilling environment and time at NO COST to our campers. This includes the campsite which provides food and facilities, suture kits and CPR dummies for workshops, arts and crafts for students to create and share, transportation, and extra merchandise and resources that will be needed throughout the camp.

Should this fund reach the campus minimum required for the establishment of an endowment or quasi-endowment, The UCLA Foundation reserves the right to convert this fund to an endowment or quasi-endowment. A donation of $1 allows us to provide pencils, markers, stationary for poster making and activities!
A $10 donation helps us buy snacks and goodies for students for mentorship events where they receive guidance in their educational journeys!
A $20 donation helps provide materials for interactive suture kits where students are able to practice learning how to suture! It is one of the highlights of our camp!
Students receive a set of scrubs at the end of the program as a token for their hard work and participation throughout camp, all while building their confidence in their journeys ahead!
A $100 donation will help us buy counselors and students shirts and totebags for the camp!
A $150 donation is just enough to cover the fees for lodging and food for a student at camp! With your contribution, we will be one student closer towards achieving our mission.
This year we would like counselors to be able to go to school sites for mentorship events in person as well as provide bus transportation to the campsite for campers!
A donation of $1000 would allow us to host our camp at an outdoor campsite and access various interactive activities the facility offers to give our campers the full camp experience!
