Support UCLA Club Track & Field!

UCLA Club Track & Field is a student-led club made up of hard-working and fun-loving student athletes. We practice in cohorts of sprinters, distance runners, jumpers, and - new this year - pole vaulters! Throughout the year we compete in meets, and in February, we host an All-Comers meet here at Drake Stadium for anyone in the area (of any age or skill level) to compete in. We also put on various social events for our team members like a prom and banquet at the end of the year to celebrate the team’s amazing accomplishments on and off the track. For the first time in club history, we want to send athletes to the National Inter-Collegiate Running Association (NIRCA) Nationals this April 6-7 in Virginia! We would love any support to help us have a record-breaking season.

Competition is necessary for our student athletes to foster goals and create a space for us to demonstrate all of the hard work put in during practice. Track meets are where personal records are set, where we get the chance to represent our school, and where lasting memories are made. A big meet such as this one is extra exciting, as track athletes from hundreds of different schools come together to compete. The energy will be elevated and the times will be faster, bringing out the best in each student athlete. This year nationals will take place in Richmond, Virginia in April. A round trip flight to Virginia from LA is $400-500. Adding accommodation, meet fees, and other transportation costs, we anticipate this experience costing around $650 per athlete. We are super excited to provide our members with the opportunity to compete at a high level, but understand that this is a high cost. This is why we need your help! Your donation will elevate our club, help athletes achieve their goals, and bring our athletes together. We are excited to rep blue and gold at Nationals for the first time. Go Bruins!

Our goal is to raise $5,000 for our team. With your help, we would be able to allocate $4,000 of our $5,000 goal towards sending members to NIRCA Nationals. The other $1,000 will go towards new equipment, and benefit all club and also community members. For example, as we want to host more meets at our school, we want to purchase a full set of hurdles and more blocks. These would be used at our All-Comers Meet, which is often a favorite memory of our awesome alumni and runners in the surrounding area. Therefore, your donation will also make a lasting impact on the LA running community as a whole. 

Last year through our SPARK campaign we raised over $2,800. With the help of our donors (shout out and thank you again to those who supported us!) we had our most successful season yet. We represented our school and competed in many meets, and we even put on our very first track prom, "Trom," in the spring! We are still using the money, putting it towards new sprint equipment.
