Our Team:

Hello! We are the 2023-2024 UCLA Women's Club Water Polo Team and we are so excited to share about our team with you! We are a student-run organization, managed through the efforts of our dedicated leaders and supportive teammates. As a team, we desire the success of our players both inside and out of the pool, which is why we hold hard work and friendship at the foundation of everything we do and encourage. This year, we've had the privilege of welcoming a team of over 50 players, all of whom share a passion for water polo and commitment towards improvement. Having already competed in three tournaments this quarter, we're looking forward to competing in the Women's Club Water Polo Regional Tournament against schools from all over California! We aim to qualify for Nationals this year and give our team the opportunity to play against the best in the nation. We hope that with your support, we'll be able to successfully reach all these goals! 

Upcoming Events:

With the season officially starting this quarter, our team has already begun to compete across California! We competed in preseason tournaments including invitations at UC Irvine, SDSU, UC San Diego, and UC Davis where we had the opportunity to play teams from California and out-of-state. Most recently, we competed in our fist of two league tournaments on February 17-18 at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo against teams from southern and central California. Coming up soon we will have our second league tournament at USC on March 2-3. Finally, we'll have the opportunity to fight for a spot at Nationals during the Southern California Regional tournament hosted at UCLA on April 13-14. Allocation of Funds:

With our large team and to allow for our players to have the most playing time possible, we register two teams for all tournaments. Consequently, our travel expenses must support the large number of girls that need to be transported to the tournament locations. We thank the many families who have hosted our members in their homes during tournament weekends that help us to reduce hotel costs. 

How You Can Help:

Although we are a UCLA Club Sports team, the university does not provide any funding for our club. As a result, we depend on donations and internal funding to cover the costs of our tournament registration, travel expenses, and athletic equipment. These costs can add up to substantial amounts, and we do not want financial burden to prevent our team from competing or discourage players from joining our team. This is where we need your help! Your generous contributions allow us to support all of our team members in both the competitive and recreational realms of water polo. 

Thank you! Last year's donations helped us to reduce individual member dues, while allowing us to compete in additional invitational tournaments and plan more team bonding activities.
