Our Crowdfunding Groups
UCLA Dragon Boat is a student-run competitive club sports team. Founded in 2004, our team prides itself in building a diverse and tight-knit community of students who are committed to and embody the spirit of competition and excellence. We are 50 paddlers strong, making up two race crews: Blue and Gold.
As a student-run team, our paddlers are continuously concerned about finances. From registration fees and accommodation for race events, to transportation and equipment fees during weekly practices, the majority of the team’s operating expenses come out of our students’ own pockets. Your support will help the team pursue our passion for paddling without the financial stress.
Our initial goal focuses on funding our upcoming race in Vancouver this summer. At this race, we will be competing against fellow local and international dragon boat teams. In addition to the hefty race registration fees, transportation, housing, equipment, and other expenses generate significant costs to ensure a successful race experience. But with your help, we can make it happen!
This is where YOU come in! By donating to our campaign, you will not only help alleviate team expenses at this festival, but also contribute to the long tradition and larger Dragon Boat community.
The Vancouver international race is one that not only allows our paddlers to experience a higher level of competition, but brings great memories of oversea travel, and connections with international teams. It has been a favorite race for many paddlers, and we hope to be able to extend this experience to many more paddlers.
Thanks to our generous donors, our previous SPARK campaign raised over $6,000 — 220% of our original goal! We immensely appreciate having been able to surpass our previous goal, and with those funds, we were able to alleviate race fees for our summer crew, cover housing costs, reduce annual fees, and help bring more paddlers to more races. We'd like to express our deepest gratitude to everyone who donated during our 2023 campaign. Whether you're a team alumni, friends or family of a past or current member, or member of the community, your support is what makes everything we do possible!

Give water to a paddler to prevent dehydration throughout the race weekend!
Feed one meal to a paddler to provide nutrients and optimize a paddlers performance.
In order to compete with some of the best teams, our gear (i.e. paddles and life jackets) must be in working condition. With your donation of $50, you can help us repair and equip the team with the gear we need!
Training requires the use of a pERG (modified rowing machine) and additional practice slots. Help one paddler cover these costs and improve our training facilities!
Provide a place to stay for one paddler to ensure a good nights rest for the race!
Cover the round-trip flight of one paddler from UCLA to Vancouver!
Cover our team registration fee for one boat to compete in one division at the festival!
Cover our team registration fee for the team to race in multiple divisions!
