UCLA Figure Skating was founded in 2012 as a student-run, intercollegiate organization within club sports. Since then, we have achieved incredible success and growth: qualifying for the National Intercollegiate Final nine times and ranking among the top five teams in the nation! At the 2023 National Intercollegiate Final, we won first place in the High Team Maneuvers event, making us National Champions! We finished seventh out of sixteen teams and placed the highest among Pacific Coast schools. Every season, we compete in three conference competitions on the Pacific Coast in hopes of being one of the top 4 teams to qualify for the National Intercollegiate Final. This year, our team competed at competitions hosted by Colorado State University and Denver University as well as an event hosted by us right here in SoCal! Thanks to the hard work, dedication, and passion of all our skaters, we placed 2nd overall in the Pacific Coast section which earned us a spot at the 2024 National Intercollegiate Final in Lake Placid, New York!

Without easy access to training facilities, coaches, or transportation, our team depends on one another to accommodate training time in between a rigorous course schedule and commute time. All of our skaters pay for training, equipment, and competitions out of pocket. With no outside financial support, training sessions, travel expenses, entry fees, accommodation, and all other costs can be very expensive for our skaters. To prepare for competition throughout the season, our members organize self-run off-ice sessions, carpool together to the rink, and even choreograph routines for each other. Our team promotes sportsmanship, teamwork, and community in ways that benefit our skaters beyond skating. Through our experiences, we have been able to establish a strong community among our skaters through creating meaningful relationships and connections.

For some of our skaters, college has been their first competitive experience, while others have spent several years prior competing in regional, sectional, and national competitions. Regardless of previous experiences, all of our skaters have found a new family within the team, bonded by our shared passion for figure skating.

In the past SPARK campaign, we raised $11,483. The amazing support from our donors helped us succeed at the 2023 National Intercollegiate Final!

This year, we have qualified for the 2024 National Intercollegiate Final, which will be held in Lake Placid, New York. To make sure we will all be able to attend, we are asking for your financial support to alleviate the individual expenses of our skaters. We have set our fundraising goal to $8,000, which would cover the entry fees of each skater and assist in accommodation costs.

By contributing to this campaign, you will not only help us attend Nationals but will support our team's continuing growth. Your donations are the building blocks of our success, and we appreciate any amount you can give!

Thank you for your support, and go Bruins!
