On July 29th, a 93-year-old pipe ruptured on Sunset Boulevard near the Westwood Plaza entrance to UCLA, flooding campus facilities including Pauley Pavilion, Drake Stadium, the John Wooden Center, the Athletics Hall of Fame and two major parking structures with about 20 million gallons of water.

Thousands of students, faculty, staff and campus visitors have been affected. Their needs are immediate and acute.
Assistance from insurance is coming, but it will take months for that to happen. Even when aid does arrive, it will not be enough in many cases.
One staffer, for example, who commutes to and from the San Fernando Valley, dropping his daughters off at school on the way, fears that the full value of his car will be greater than the money he will receive from insurance.
Another, whose 14-year old car was totaled, cannot afford a monthly car payment because of existing family hardship.
Folks from every corner of our university family and the larger community have come forward and offered their help.
We have established the Chancellor’s Emergency Flood Relief Fund to bring immediate assistance to those individuals affected by the flood.
One hundred percent of your gift goes toward relief.
